Primary English
The Hess Academy’s Primary English program offers a comprehensive, MOE-aligned curriculum designed to build a robust linguistic foundation from Primary 1 through PSLE. Led by experienced ex-MOE educators, the program utilizes a data-driven approach, beginning with diagnostic tests to create personalized learning profiles.

A key highlight is the proprietary 4M framework, which scaffolds complex composition writing into manageable steps—focusing on ideation, conflict, and resolution rather than rote memorization. Students benefit from small class sizes (capped at 8), high-quality in-house worksheets, and termly assessment reports that track progress.

Secondary English: Express & IP
Our O-Level program equips students with a methodical framework for the 1184 syllabus. We focus on replicable writing techniques, content mastery for current affairs, and precise comprehension strategies. Through targeted drilling and model-based learning, students gain the technical skills and confidence to excel in national examinations.
IP English Tuition Designed for the rigors of the Integrated Programme, this curriculum focuses on high-level critical thinking and Language Arts. We bridge the gap to JC by training students in persuasive argumentation, nuanced literary analysis, and real-world application, ensuring they master complex texts and sophisticated essay writing.

General Paper
Our GP programme transforms students into sharp thinkers and persuasive writers through a balanced curriculum that alternates weekly between Paper 1 and Paper 2. For Paper 1, we provide Curated Reading Packs that distill complex current affairs into high-yield case studies, coupled with a Structured Composition Framework to build nuanced, evaluative arguments.

For Paper 2, we demystify "problematic" question styles with a heavy emphasis on the Application Question (AQ) and Summary. We teach students how to contextualize global issues to Singapore and paraphrase with surgical precision. Unlike the large-lecture format of other centres, our alternating approach ensures consistent mastery of both papers with individualized feedback.

International School Curriculum: IB & IGCSE
We provide comprehensive support for international school students from Grades 1 to 12, including specialized coaching for IGCSE and IB English. Recognizing that every international curriculum differs, we offer bespoke one-to-one classes tailored specifically to your school’s syllabus and individual learning goals.
